Creating a Brighter Future
Sparks of Hope Contribution
With your support, Dr. E Dermatology is happy to announce that we have recently contributed $2000 to the Aga Khan University Medical College Programmatic Funding Initiative at the Spark of Hope Foundation.
The Spark of Hope Foundation provides university-level scholarships to bright young women from the developing world, with a special focus on areas of conflict and remote areas, who lack the financial means to acquire an education that would help them break the cycle of poverty and become tomorrow’s leaders.
The students supported through The Spark of Hope’s partnership with Aga Khan University (Faculty of Health Science) come from the Northern Areas of Pakistan and have lived first-hand through the healthcare challenges in the region. They are therefore extremely motivated to be able to make an impact in their communities upon graduation and work extremely hard to excel at their studies.
After they graduate, some of these doctors go on to gain post-medical specializations, while others will work as GPs, providing much-needed care in remote areas of Pakistan. Developing the next generation of women doctors is essential to improving healthcare in the region, especially for women and children.
Beyond providing personalized skin care treatments via our teledermatology platform, Dr. E Dermatology is dedicated to helping women in third-world countries break through socio-cultural norms that prohibit them from living the life of their dreams. A common reality that hits close to home for Dr. Shehla Ebrahim (owner of Dr. E Dermatology).
